You Do Make a Difference!

What a great picnic!
The time went so fast!
I won an unexpected prize at B I N G O!
I think I ate one too many deserts!
The rain did not bother the evening at all!

The Roncalli Catholic High School Students are exceptional, helpful, friendly, and fun to talk to!

A special welcome to the new Postulants!

Thank you Sisters, Brothers, and Priests for all you do!
May we receive your beautiful song, the Blessing of St. Francis ?

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Motherhouse
These were just a few of the comments overheard during the Annual Serran Picnic!

This delicious, relaxed, friendship-filled picnic was held especially for the
Manitowoc Area:
Priests of the Green Bay Diocese,
De La Salle Christian Brothers,
Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity,
Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross,
Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis,
Felician Sisters,
along with the Novices and Postulants of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.

The graciousness of this Serran group cannot be measured! Their faith, prayers, and support are wonderful gifts to us and to the  whole Church!

  1. Blessed Junipero Serra
A Franciscan missionary Blessed Junipero Serra is well known as the 18th century founder of a string of California missions.

Like Father Serra, the Serrans of today put faith into action. Whether through meetings, vocational programs, or personal involvement in school, parish and diocesan activities, Serrans accept the challenge of fostering vocations and encouraging spiritual growth.

This annual picnic celebration with the Manitowoc Serrans is a great example of the kindness of these faithfilled people!
With grateful prayer for each of you!

  2. Sr. Delores Wisnicky says:

Thank you, Serrans! You are very generous! Thank you for supporting us in so many ways.
It was a great night of visiting, good food and fun.
God bless you for your kindness to us!

  3. Kara says:

Thank you Serrans for all your prayers! I am sure that your prayers gave me the strength and courage to respond to God’s call to this community as a postulant!

The event last night was really fun! Thank you so much for the delicious food and the fun Bingo! I have never played with that many people before, and I was excited to win some postage stamps to stay in touch with family and friends at home!

  4. Marie Wilhelm says:

I had a really great time at this and it was so nice for the Serrans to put this on. I really liked meeting some of the other Sisters that are on mission at Roncali and at St. Peter the Fisherman’s in Two Rivers. Playing bingo was really fun. Kara and I won Stamps which will help us write our families letters at home.

  5. I have happy memories of the Serrans. They had an essay contest on religious vocations when I was in 8th grade. I won the contest and was picked up by a Serran, driven 17 miles to their meeting and was asked to read my essay. Even at that age, I knew this group was supportive if religious life. I came to our community less than a year after that contest.
Thank you, Serrans, for your prayerful support of our way of life.

  6. Serran picnic sounds like a wonderful time. I’m going to check out the homepage and look into what the memberships requirements are.

  7. Sister Rosangela Weiland says:

The Serran picnic was a huge success as usual. Thank you to all of them for the delicious food and the fun time playing Bingo. Also thank you to the young people from Roncalli who helped in this event. I think this is one of our hundred-fold blessings!!! May God bless each and everyone who made this event possible.

  8. S Pat Sevcik says:

What a wonderful, fun-filled evening! Thank you to every Serran, the students from Roncali and all who shared their wealth with us. I pray that God will continue to bless your work as you support vocations to the Priesthood, Brotherhood and Religious Life.
The rain was no damper on this picnic!! God bless you!
