Postulant Mission Experience: St. Agnes Convent

by Sister Julie Ann on February 7, 2017

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Postulant Tricia shares her recent experience at St. Agnes Convent, Green Bay, WI.

I went to St. Agnes Convent in Green Bay. There are six Sisters stationed there. They all do different things, so I got to shadow them in different areas. Postulant Tricia_Mission experience_SACTwo days I went to Holy Family School where Sister Ann Carla tutors. I observed in two different schools in one building. I observed 7th, and 8th graders literature class of Holy Family School. I also observed the 1st and 2nd graders of St. John Paul II Classical School. Postulant Tricia_Mission experience

Then it was off to the Green Bay Dioceses office where Sister Jackie and Sister Kathryn work. I sat in on a meeting for principals. It gave me a different perspective within the education field. Later that same day Sister Anne Marie (Selinsky) picked me up and showed me all the churches she works in. I met many people and saw her office. Postulant Tricia_Mission experience_SAC

I did not go to the school with Sr. Rosalyn because of a delay caused by the weather,  but I did get to hang around with all the Sisters which was great! I also went shopping with Sister Dorothy. All in all it felt like a big family and it was great to be a part of it. I really had a great time with all of them! They are amazing at what they do!

  2. Hi, Tricia! Glad you had a variety of experiences & I know you pitched right IN wherever you could. I certainly enjoyed the school & convent & church & people when I was missioned there. I had the privilege of having a Packer’s son in class: Michael Kostelnik. God’s continued blessings, Tricia on your journey!
