Postulants Recap Encounter Milwaukee Experience

by Sister Julie Ann on November 18, 2016

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Postulants share their experiences of Encounter Milwaukee held November 12, 2016.

Encounter Milwaukee itinerary included phenomenal speakers, music, eucharistic adoration and confession for those who desired, and mass with Fr. Leo Patalinghug (who some may remember from EWTN and the show “Savoring Our Faith”). It was good to see so many in attendance, and the young adults who are the future of our beautiful Catholic Church. I would like to share a couple areas that stood out to me.

  • God wants to take us where we are at this very moment, not where we will be tomorrow or where we were yesterday.
  • God wants us to bring our worst and our struggles to him, and make us new again.
  • Also, by sharing our weaknesses and struggles with one another we are then able to grow closer to each other as we have been called as God’s children. (Shari)encounter-milwaukee-2017

Encounter Milwaukee was an incredible grace filled experience. The speakers were on fire for Jesus, one could truly feel the Holy Spirit present in the music, and I enjoyed seeing friends from my alma mater :). I will definitely keep the inspirations I received with me in these upcoming months of Postulancy (Megan)

Encounter Milwaukee was a faith-filled day of prayer, worship and song. What a blessing to have experienced this day with those who are on “Fire” for Jesus Christ. (Colleen) encounter-milwaukee-20172

The conference was inspirational. The Holy Spirit was alive and well in the speakers. The audience seemed very alive and respondent to the messages! (Tricia)

  1. Shari, Colleen, Megan & Tricia, am so glad you had such a grace-filled weekend at the “Encounter Milwaukee.” How enriching to join with others in prayer, worship & song. Am so glad you four Postulants are now all together at our Holy Family Convent in Manitowoc, WI. We keep you in prayer here at Cambridge, Ohio. Blessings in your studies and formation!

Thank you, Sister Julie Ann and our four Postulants, for recapping this experience. Know of our prayer for you each day and especially as you attend events such as this…helping our Congregation to be present with so many people “on fire” with the Gospel of Jesus!
