About the Song Saints

mountains-and-tide-pitch-feathersThis song was inspired by the gospel hymn “When the Saints Go Marching In”, and sings about the emotions and freedom of salvation. The light instrumentation, the atmospheric buildup and the vocal tone combine to bring out the introspective mood of the song. Although the lyrical content is apocalyptic in nature, hopefully the song evokes a sense of comfort along with somewhat bittersweet feelings.

The song is the opening track for our debut album “Mountains and Tides”, and sets the tone for the rest of the album, which builds up and diversifies in sound. Like life, music is a journey. We hope the song touches your life enough for you to think about life and the things that matter.

Cheers, and have a great year ahead!

About Pitch Feather

Pitch Feather is a Singapore-based indie rock band piloted by Chuan and Alberta – a husband and wife duo with a keen DIY spirit and eagerness for artistic collaboration. They play indie rock with elements of folk, baroque pop and metal. The duo write, record and produce their music from their little home studio. Sometimes, they invite friends over for coffee, music and good company. pitch-feather

Their self-produced debut album “Mountains and Tides” was released in October 2013. These songs contemplate life, death, kinship, hope and love. The songs are rich in arrangement and interweaved with thoughtful, poetic lyrics. On top of them all, Alberta’s captivating, ethereal vocals are what really bring these songs to life.
