A graceful blessed virgin woman

She knows just who she is

Not afraid of speaking up

She asks the right questions

And when she’s called

To give her best

Has no problem saying yes

She is the light for me

She’s how I’d like to be

Looking to her / I find Thee

Finding you I find out my identity

She’s how I’d like to be

A wife / a mother / a cousin / a friend

She’s always quick to serve

She knows how to take / a compliment

Gives credit when it’s deserved

Traveling / shedding doubt

Fitting in / standing out

And in your darkest hour

She never leaves your side

She need not say a word

She says it with her eyes

And when she speaks / news of peace

I fall down / to my knees

How I’d Like to Be

This is just a perfect song for our Camp Franciscan theme: Women of Strength, Women of God!! Amanda captures Mary’s role model status so beautifully! The other great women to be featured at Camp Franciscan are: Deborah, Esther, Naomi and Ruth, and Elizabeth, cousin of Mary. I am eager to hear Amanda in person!

  2. I discovered Amanda’s music about a year ago. Very nice writing and performing. She lives what she sings and sings what she lives. The world needs more positive music to offset the darkness.
