by Sister Julie Ann on April 9, 2016

At the request of Father Benedetto Paris, Pastor of St. Francis de Sales Parish, Manistique, MI, Franciscan Sister Marsaia Kaster facilitated a recent faculty retreat day . A strong wind carried the car packed with computer, lcd projector, other accessory items and a harp to the destination on the shores of Lake Michigan.Franciscan Sister Marsaia leads faculty retreat cropped

Principal Mrs.  Melissa Wood  and other faculty members focused on Moses, model of servant leadership.  The day began with  Eucharist and the opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Other models of mercy were also explored including Caryl Houselander and Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.

A retreat day for faculty is such a wonderful opportunity for renewal, especially now, prior to the “homestretch” of the school year. I’m sure your reflections and harp music enhance the experience in gentle, powerful ways, Sister Marsaia.

Caryl Houselander is one of my favorite spiritual authors. So glad to see her used here. Thank you for your very valuable ministry of retreats, Sister Marsaia.
