Read about a new Silver Lake College of the Holy Family Nursing Scholarship named after Franciscan Sister Marion Gillis.
Nursing education has been a part of the history of Holy Family College, now Silver Lake College of the Holy Family over the years. On August 13, 2015 the Wisconsin Board of Nursing approved Silver Lake College’s request for authorization to plan a new Nursing School in Wisconsin. The Program is expected to take one year for its planning and development to begin a freshman class in the fall of 2016.
Through the estate of Father Ralph Gillis, brother of Sister Marion Gillis, an Endowed Scholarship for Nursing Education has been established in Sister Marion’s name. The Sister Marion Gillis Endowed Scholarship fund will be used to provide financial support and encouragement to full-time undergraduate students attending Silver Lake College of the Holy Family.
The signing of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program gift agreement was witnessed by Dr. Chris Domes, President of Silver Lake College, Mr. Marc Barbeau, Vice President of Advancement and External Relations, Sister Marion’s nephew, Tim, her niece, Claremarie, and Sister Natalie Binversie. By
