Franciscan Sisters Visit St. Agnes Parish Mingo Junction, OH

by Sister Julie Ann on November 2, 2015

Did you see Franciscan Sisters at St. Agnes Parish, Mingo Junction, OH recently? Yes.  Our Sisters living at St. Benedict’s Convent, Cambridge, Ohio are visiting places where our Sisters once served in Ohio, but also our Sisters’ home parishes.Franciscan Sisters Visit Mingo Junction OH

They received an awesome welcome. Sister Carol Juckem even joined the parish choir just like the good ol’ days. After Mass, conversations with parishioners, especially former students and school family members were precious and heart-warming.Franciscan Sisters visit St Agnes Mingo Junction, OH

Our Sisters took the opportunity to pray for the Sisters who have served there and for the parishioners. Of course, they also left some vocation material.

  1. Yes, it was a meaningful day in the Lord. For those who have served in Mingo Junction the first picture shows our former Sr. Henrietta Means’ sister and Mrs. Chappano with our Sisters.
In the second picture is John Balzano, Sr. Sharon Paul’s first grade student (years’ ago) at St. Agnes, now a Doctor at Trinity Heights in Steubenville, OH. The girl on the far right is one of their seven daughters. What a blessed Reunion!

I have very fond memories of serving at St. Agnes School in Mingo, 1999 – 2002. Those were blessed years, getting to know the many people who had been so good to our sisters.
Thank you for representing all of us.

It must have been a beautiful reunion of JOY!
