Franciscan Sisters Support Steubenville Diocese Seminarians

by Sister Julie Ann on June 25, 2015

Wondering if our Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity encourage young men pursuing diocesan priesthood by our words and prayers? We certainly do. Here’s another example of our prayerful support and pride in the men God is calling to serve him today.

Franciscan Sister Sharon and SeminariansRecently, Bishop Jeffrey Monforton celebrated the 10:30 Mass at St. Benedict’s Church, Cambridge, OH. He accepted one of two Seminarians from the Parish into Candidancy.  Another young man will be leaving in July to study in Rome.  He graduated from the Josephinum College in May.

Our Sisters have watched both seminarians grow in the faith. We were on hand to enjoy “Sundaes For Seminarians” with the Bishop and the other seminarians from around the diocese after the Mass.

  1. Sister Marcolette Madden says:

The prayers continue, as well as the many ways the Catholic Community intentionally encourages youth to “think about” a religious vocation.
