Franciscan Sisters Participate in Skype Vocation Presentation

by Sister Julie Ann on February 16, 2015

Recently, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity were invited to an Appleton, WI Xavier High School Junior Retreat day for a vocation presentation. While Sister Elaine Turba and Sister Julie Ann Sheahan were ‘live’ at the conference center with the young women, Sister Mary Beth Meehl , a temporary professed member of the Daughters of the Divine Hope at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, ‘skyped in’ for the hour at the Appleton Sacred Heart Parish conference room filled with @70 young women.

Information shared included the basics of discernment, as well as the specific signs of a call to consecrated life. Personal stories, as well as helpful resources, enriched the time. In particular, we were blessed to share Sister Pamela Catherine Peasel’s perpetual profession of vows podcast, an invitation to Camp Franciscan and receive feedback on our website and song of the month.

May St. Joseph and Mother Mary help these young women to respond to the Lord’s great love and goodness.
