On Sunday, July 14, 2013 Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sister Pamela Catherine and Sister Monica renewed their vows of chastity, poverty and obedience for one more year. Our Franciscan Community witnessed their desire to give themselves totally to Christ as we listened to the profession of their vows in St. Mary Chapel at our Motherhouse in Manitowoc, WI. Sister Regina Rose, who professed her vows for the first time in June after completing her Novitiate, applauded with the whole Motherhouse Community and others of our Sisters united across the miles.
Sister Pamela Catherine will be returning to St. Peter Mission, Bapchule, AZ to teach junior high. Sister Monica takes a longer plane ride to St. Theresa Parish, Kekaha, HI, to teach 3rd and 4th grade. (To listen to a light-hearted interview with Antioch Live about her call, click here.) Sister Regina Rose will be serving as Coordinator of Family Life at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, Two Rivers, WI.
Today’s Gospel from St. Luke speaks to the importance of commitment and mission:
“You shall love the Lord, your God,
with all your heart,
with all your being,
with all your strength,
and with all your mind,
and your neighbor as yourself.”
Jesus replied to his disciples and to us: “Do this and you will live.” If you feel God is calling you to be a Franciscan Sister so that you can truly live, contact us.
