Franciscan Invite: 3 Free Easter Songs by Brazilian Artist Marco Esch

by Sister Julie Ann on March 30, 2013

Looking for alive Easter music? In anticipation of World Youth Day 2013, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity invite you to freely download inspiring Resurrection music by Brazilian artist Marco Esch. In The Assisi Compilation, St. Francis used to say: “What are the servants of God if not His minstrels, who must move people’s hearts and lift them up to spiritual joy?”

  • Lua

Lyrics: click here.

In the Council of Nicea it was determined that the best skilled in astronomical calculations should assist in determining the proper date of Easter and communicate it to the rest of the world.  Easter Sunday must follow the fourteenth day of the paschal moon. It seems fitting to have a song of Resurrection entitled ‘Moon’.

  • Bossa E Paz

Lyrics: click here.

The Resurected Lord gives his disciples peace- a ‘peace the world can not give’. It is a peace found only in a relationship with our Risen Lord.

  • Alegria De Viver

St. Francis urged his followers to find joy in the gifts of creation, in contemplation, in living the Gospel with a generous heart. In this spirit of ‘ green’ springtime, we identify with Christ who passed from death to life.  Again, we invite you to help us translate the lyrics of this song.

About Marco Esch

Marco Esch was born in 1967 in the land of Bossa Nova in Rio de Janeiro. Besides being a singer, he presently works in the areas of journalism, environment, music and cultural production. He is the oldest of five children of Mary Esch and Antonio Gomes. Because of his father’s unemployment, Marco at age 13 assisted his mother in the task of caring for his 4 siblings – Marcelo, Marcio Alessandra and Ricardo. Despite struggles, Mary Esch, worked, took a nursing class and left nothing lacking. Time passed, resources were few, but God has never forsaken this family. At 17 Marco Esch felt the call of God, became committed to use his gift of singing to not only praise God, but draw others to Christ.

In Portugese
