On Ascension afternoon, May 20, 2012, Bishop David Ricken, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, and other communities of women religious serving in the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay lifted up in prayer 32 jubilarians celebrating 75, 70, 60, 50 and 25 years of commitment at a 3 p.m. Eucharistic liturgy at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay, WI.
Our Sister jubilarians who were able to attend the celebration were radiant. Their joy was contagious. We were proud of our Franciscan Sisters who not only serve on the Advisory Board Jubilee Committee (Sister Natalie Binversie and Sister Roseangela Weiland), but also others (including our Novices) who provided light-hearted music for the liturgy. Congregational singing was spirited and full of hope.
Together, we also prayed for vocations to the consecrated religious life, as well as for all the other vocations our Church needs now and in the future to evangelize our world with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
“Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.” (Mk 16:15)
