A Franciscan Take on Spring (Song of Songs 2:11)

by Sister Anne Turba on April 19, 2011

While participating in a recent Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity HealthCare Ministry Leadership Enrichment Program in Zanesville, OH, Sister Anne Turba captured the beauty of  springtime. Enjoy this refreshing gallery of images illustrating this scripture text:

For behold, the winter is past, the rain is over, the flowers have already appeared in the land.

-Song of Songs 2:11

(For those currently experiencing a winter storm of snow and sleet, find hope that the season of green grass and glorious growth of multi-colored flowers is soon to come.)

What stirs within you as you view these photos?

Sr. Anne, what beautiful photos capturing SPRINGTIME in OHIO. What a sign of LIFE & VIGOR as we anticipate the greatest FEAST in our church, the RESURRECTION of our Lord, Jesus Christ but before this comes HOLY THURSDAY, GOOD FRIDAY AND HOLY SATURDAY. The TRIDUUM has a sacredness all its own. Do, have a blessed and a holy Triduum from our house in West Point, Nebraska to yours!

  2. This gives one hope!!!!

I love the Ohio flowers – trees and bushes. Thanks for sharing them. I guess the old saying is very true. “There is no place like home”.

  4. Can one ever enjoy too many spring flowers?! These photos are especially precious this year!
