The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity share a series of typical and yet not so ordinary photos entitled ‘Wind’s Waves and Wings’.

img_6887.jpgAll praise be yours, my Lord, through Brothers Wind and Air, and fair and stormy, all the weather’s moods, by which you cherish all that you have made.

All praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Water, so useful, lowly, precious and pure. (St. Francis’ Canticle of Creation)

O Lord, you have given everything its place in the world, and no one can make it otherwise. For it is your creation, the heavens and the earth and the stars; you are Lord of all. (Esther 13:9, 10-11)

Thank you for sharing the Franciscan pictures–a touch of “Winds Waves and Wings” and “The Canticle.” A great beginning to this early A.M. Happy Feast of St. Martin de Porres who loved all creation and a great helper to the poor among us! Have a blessed day & notice the Lord’s surprises of Creation tucked away as you minister in His name.

  2. The power of wind, a renewable resource, is captured in this photo in its utter simplicity and beauty.

I teach my cousins a game with milk weed pod seeds (or any other floating seeds). We call them wishing seeds. If you can catch them in your hand you get to make a wish. You clasp it in your palm and whisper your wish to the seed then you blow it away into the wind. It is fun to make wishes it keeps the magic in the world. I taught my cousins to pray at wishing moments so that they always remeber to pray.

  4. Thanks for sharing what you do with “wishing seeds” Leslie! You are a very good teacher using God’s creation to discover beauty, prayer, and magic in life!

I do find these photos that Sister Julie Ann took so beautiful! They capture the beauty of the changing of the seasons!

Have been seeing the beauty of the photos shown on Wind’s Waves and Wings. As I look at the photos i am also looking out at the shimmering of the lake outside the window, plus the reflection of all that in a window facing another direction. I love nature and I ask myself why in all this splendor around me I don’t ponder it more than when I do. It does bring inner peace.

  6. The seeds of change are all around us. May we move to the waves of inner peace that rise up deep within us. The landscape is truly in transition here in northern Wisconsin—SNOW!
